Open Access publishing from Cambridge
Information for authors
Open Access (OA) has become an important way to make research findings freely available for anyone to access and view. Cambridge Open serves authors and the wider community by publishing high quality, peer reviewed OA content. We support and promote all forms of OA that are financially sustainable. Our Introduction to Open Access page provides some essential information about the types of OA we offer.
We publish Gold OA journals and books and we work with publishing partners such as learned societies to develop OA for different communities.
We also support Green OA (also called Green archiving) across our journals and books programmes, allowing authors to deposit content in PubMed Central and other institutional and subject-specific repositories. Cambridge Open allows authors to comply with the Gold and Green OA requirements of major funders such as the The Wellcome Trust, RCUK, HHMI, NIH, Hefce and many other agencies.

Our core principles
Knowledge is for everyone. No one should be denied the discoveries and advances of learning or the ability to contribute to the pool of knowledge – whatever their academic status, means of funding or country of origin.
Cambridge Open builds upon the long history and reputation of Cambridge University Press for publishing high quality, authoritative content. Our growing OA programme brings together leading researchers and thinkers, creating a vigorous and fertile exchange of ideas. We aim to support the research and interdisciplinary collaboration of an ever greater diversity of subjects and people.
We are committed to publishing high quality OA content with peer-review, editorial and production processes of the highest possible standards.
